Funny….

Funny, after living 8 years in Michigan…. I never got into College Football! Now, I am living in Oregon and  I watched Oregon State play USC last night! WOW what a game! We live 20 miles North of Corvallis, and it is all exciting to be so close to the action…. sometime soon, the palmer family is going to make a trip to the OSU stadium to watch a game in person… until then, GO BEAVS! YAHOO!

so many of you have asked if I was going to post any current photos of Maddie…. I thought about it… and decided that since her birthday isn’t until December, that it would be kinda mean of me to wait till then… so, I am posting photos.

Emma Jayne Palmer-10

Emma Jayne Palmer was born on September 2, 1998 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She weighed 6lb 12oz.  and was 19 3/4″.  She was born at 9:02pm on her due date.  Currently she is 52 inches tall and 58lbs.  She is in 4th grade and she loves to be with her friends, she loves to read, and be in school (summer isn’t nearly as fun as school)  She is always on the go, she loves to be with little kids, and is a great singer!  She has a heart of compassion and hospitality as well as a spirit of adventure and a deep desire to learn about anything and everything.  Not to mention that she has an excellent memory, recalling facts easily.

Emma loves to Swim and is very graceful in the water.  She knows how to Freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly, she tells me her favorite is the breaststroke.  She won 2 first place ribbons and 2 second place ribbons at 3 different swim meets this summer.  She loves Michael Phelps and even says that she might want to swim in the Olympics one day… it could happen… she pushes herself pretty good…but we are still working on the turns!

Well, Emma, something I have been meaning to tell you…Daddy told you when you were born(the first time he held you)  he said to you ”now, Emma, you listen to daddy, No growing up…ok?!”  It didn’t work, cause here you are… already 10…TEN!!!! how did that happen? …. you are such a contagious little personality!  We love you and are blessed to have you for a daughter~!  Here are some pictures of emma, (her photos came before digital… so, I don’t have any baby pics of her on the computer…and I don’t have a scanner either.)  what kind of photographer am I anyway?

Taylor--Seven

Well, August is the time of year that we are finally becoming comfortable with the summer ‘routine’…. play all day, come home take a shower, stay up way too late and then repeat the next day and the next and so on until it’s time for school to start.

This is mostly how the summer goes for Taylor, he was born on August 27, 2001 at Special Delivery Birth Center in Muskegon, Michigan.  Kelly Ashlock, Amanda Kirksey and Joyce Black, as well as Tim were in the room when Taylor was born.  Joyce held Taylor up by the foot and measured him at 21in. and he weighed 8lb. 4oz.   Right now, Taylor weighs 42lbs. and is 47in. tall.  Talk about growth spurt!  It took him a measly 7 years to grow just a little more than 2 feet and gain 34lbs.   Well, just a few days ago, Taylor turned 7.  SEVEN!!!! can you believe it?  I certainly am having a hard time with it myself.  He has always been all boy, intense, focused and energetic.  Taylor loves to run, jump, climb, ride, wrestle.  He has a hearty giggle, he loves to laugh, and we recently heard that he knows how lightning bugs recharge their ‘batteries’ (which was news to us)  He is loyal and friendly and lives life to the fullest….full speed (its hard to slow him down sometimes)  He goes to bed at a self-imposed bed time of 7:30 on school nights, so he isn’t “grumpy” the next day…or so he tells me.  I love it!!  He has always needed at least 10-12 hours of shut eye, even when he was little!

We thought we would share some great memories of Taylor’s last 7 years with you…. We Love You Tay, so glad that God gave you to us, Happy Birthday!!!
